В июле 2012 г. секс-работники всего мира собрались на Фестиваль свободы для секс—работников: «Альтернативная международная конференция по СПИДу 2012 для секс- работников и их сторонников» в Калькуте, Индия. В ходе конференции отдельное пространство для обсуждений было отведено ВИЧ-позитивным секс-работникам, которые собрались для обсуждения потребностей и запросов, присущих секс-работникам, живущим с ВИЧ. Эти обсуждения послужили основой для создания НСВП+, платформы для ВИЧ- позитивных секс-работников и других лиц, заинтересованных в равных правах для секс-работников, живущих с ВИЧ1.

Одной из особенностей новой модели финансирования является расширение пространства для значимого участия гражданского общества, общин и ключевых групп населения в разработке, мониторинге и осуществлении программ, которые затрагивают их жизнь. Глобальный фонд предлагает руководство, в котором содержатся практические рекомендации о том, как эти и другие группы могут участвовать в этом процессе, и убедиться, что они играют активную роль в формировании запросов на финансирование в Глобальный фонд.

Following a global consultation with members, the NSWP Consensus Statement reaffirms NSWP ’s
global advocacy platform for sex work, human rights and the law. The Consensus Statement is issued on behalf of NSWP members and the sex workers they represent including sex workers of all genders, class, race, ethnicity, health status, age, nationality, citizenship, language, education levels, disabilities, and many other factors.

The statement covers eight rights:

It presents advice and tips related to safety at work, and information on sex work legislation in Bulgaria, France, Germany, Italy and Portugal.

Este trabalho é um relato da experiência vivenciada, juntamente às mulheres trabalhadoras do sexo de duas casas noturnas de São Carlos, durante a realização de uma atividade de extensão. Nessa atividade de extensão procurei discutir questões ligadas aos direitos humanos, aos direitos da mulher e questões de gênero. No primeiro item desse relatório Repensando o papel feminino, apresento o referencial teórico que utilizei para estudar a temática dos direitos humanos e das relações de gênero e para dar sustentação ao planejamento das atividades realizadas durante os encontros.

As mulheres profissionais do sexo (mps), usualmente denominadas como prostitutas, têm ocupado um lugar marginal e de destaque ao longo da história da humanidade (Roberts, 1998). Na história da prostituição, o que se vê é um ininterrupto esforço, bem sucedido, de controle e ao mesmo tempo exploração da prostituição, ora por parte do Estado, ora por parte da Igreja, ou ambos (Roberts, 1998). Ao colocá-las à margem e, sempre que possível, segregar as mps através de confinamento em casas, a intenção expressa pelos que assim agiam, era de colaborar para a proteção da família. Até recentemente, a maior parte dos programas de intervenção em saúde tratou as profissionais do sexo como potenciais vetores de doenças, especialmente da Aids, com ameaça à saúde dos homens e à segurança da família (MUSA, 2000). Este enfoque foi se deslocando e, atualmente, pelo menos em alguns programas, ele se volta para os riscos à que estão expostas essas mulheres, entre outros, os ocasionados por aqueles clientes que recusam o uso da camisinha, muitas vezes por meio de atitudes violentas.
