PACE Society works with all Sex Workers (male, female and transgender sex workers). PACE works with the Sex Worker to address their self-identified needs and is open to working with clients, thirds parties, families, partners and friends at the members request.
PACE Society is a peer-driven organisation which prioritises the hiring and involvement of Sex Workers.
PACE Society works primarily like outdoor Sex Workers. The two main challenges they face is
access to affordable housing/ safe working spaces. In addition they face considerable barriers
accessing health and other social services due to stigma and poor treatment by health and other
officials.
PACE has been providing support services and education to Sex Workers, by Sex
Workers in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES) for the past 20 years. Support services
include: one–to-one counseling: case coordination; outreach services; drop-in; and peer
accompaniments delivered within a harm reduction model.
