We work with female, male and trans sex workers either working in Hungary or of Hungarian origin working abroad.
Sex workers are involved in the Supervisory Board (it consists of 3 sex workers), the Presidential Board, the General Assembly and staff. Sex workers are involved in the strategic planning of the Association’s activities in every phase (planning, implementation, feedback, monitoring, and evaluation) and determining the actual priorities and long-term aims.
The government allows sex work as long as sex workers comply with the criteria set forth within the law (renewal of health certificate every three months, possession of individual entrepreneur license and respecting protected zones). If not, sex workers can be fined and detained. However, these criteria are often vague, overly broad and arbitrarily enforced by police and judges.
Legal aid and strategic litigation, media advocacy, trainings with and for sex workers, health prevention services.
