Who do you work with?

National Ugly Mugs (NUM) is a national organisation providing greater access to justice and protection for sex workers who are often targeted by dangerous individuals but are frequently reluctant to report to the police. We believe in and advocate for the human rights of sex workers including:
Right to self determination
Right to live free from violence
Right to live free from intimidation, coercion and exploitation
Right to work as safely as possible
Right to police protection

How are sex workers involved in your organisation?

Challenge stigma and discrimination against sex workers, their families and partners, and others involved in sex work
Advocate for the economic empowerment and social inclusion of sex workers as sex workers

Stigma and safety.

Describe other areas of your work

National Ugly Mugs take reports of incidents from sex wokers and produce anonymised warnings which are sent directly to sex workers and front line support projects throughout the UK. With consent, we share anonymous intelligence to the police. We support sex workers in making full reports to the police so that the perpetrators can be identified, arrested and convicted. We ensure sex workkers have access to professional services when they have been a victim of crime.
