This manual was developed as a supplement to the Smart Sex Worker’s Guide: Rights-Affirming International Policies Relating to Sex Work. It includes recommendations for effective forms of follow-up advocacy that sex workers’ rights advocates can utilise after engaging with international and regional human rights mechanisms. Engaging with and influencing human rights mechanisms to issue sex workers’ rights affirming observations, recommendations, reports and judgments is an essential first step in advocacy and the realisation of sex workers’ rights; however, follow-up advocacy is a critical (and often overlooked) component of the process.

This report is a joint project of the Walter Leitner International Human Rights Clinic of the Leitner Center for International Law and Justice and the Global Network of Sex Work Projects.
