Who do you work with?

We work with female, male and LGBT sex workers. In its daily operations, ALCIS also involves customers as stakeholders. We also work with the police as a partner to reduce abuse and violence.

How are sex workers involved in your organisation?

What are the two main challenges that the sex workers you work with face

The absence of laws and protection policy continues to maintain an unacceptable situation with the criminalization and penalization of women sex workers in the DRC.
Lack of a recognition of sex work as work has led increasingly to strengthen abuse of all kinds. So that the inclusion of violence against women sex workers is not done in unison and their protections are not a real concern of national policies.

Describe other areas of your work

Other areas of work include: monitoring the protection and defense. ALCIS documents and denounces cases of physical and sexual violence directed against sex workers. ALCIS provides a legal and judicial support for TS with authorized body. ALCIS also publishes Early Action Alerts which helps to increase interaction and communication with the police organisation of defense.
