How are sex workers involved in your organisation?

Nuestra asociación involucra a las personas que ejercen el trabajo sexual, en la toma de decisiones, en lo que se refiere a lo organizativo, decisiones de la dirección y administración de todo, en la lucha por los derechos, en contra de el estigma y discriminación.
Our association involves sex workers in decision making all the way through, including organizational, directive and administrative respects, in the struggle for rights and against stigma and discrimination.

Which of NSWP priority areas does your organisation work on?
Oppose the criminalisation and other legal oppression of sex work and support its recognition as work
Critique the trafficking paradigm that conflates representations of sex work, migration, and mobility
Advocate for universal access to health services, including primary health care, HIV and sexual and reproductive health services
Speak out about violence against sex workers, including violence from police, institutions, clients, and intimate partners, while challenging the myth that sex work is inherently gender-based violence
Oppose human rights abuses, including coercive programming, mandatory testing, raids and forced rehabilitation
Challenge stigma and discrimination against sex workers, their families and partners, and others involved in sex work
Advocate for the economic empowerment and social inclusion of sex workers as sex workers
What are the two main challenges that the sex workers you work with face

Los principales retos a que las personas ejercen el trabajo sexual son: la discriminación, violación, el respeto a la igualdad a sus derechos, el reconocimiento al trabajo sexual como trabajo, a la criminilizacion de este y el reconocimiento del trabajo autónomo, es por esto que enmarcamos desde la parte jurídica, hacer respetar sus derechos y que no sean discriminadas , manteniendo reuniones con autoridades, tanto locales como nacionales, e implementar que sea reconocido el trabajo sexual, como un trabajo digno, ya que no esta tildado que sea un delito.
The main challenges sex workers face are: discrimination, rights violation, achieving respect and equal rights, the recognition of sex work as work, criminalization, the recognition of independent work, and this is why we emphasize the legal framework, we strive for respect and non discrimination, we hold meetings with local and national authorities, and we strive for the recognition of sex work as dignified work since it is not a crime

Campaña de sensibilización en prevención de vih/sida - its, atención integral en salud a la diversidad sexo genérica y personas que ejercen el trabajo sexual, protección de derechos de los ciudadanos de nuestro cantón, prevención en la violencia intrafamiliar y de genero, incidencia en políticas publicas, sensibilización a las autoridades.
HIV/AIDS - STDs awareness and prevention campaign, integral health care for LGBTI people and sex workers, rights protection for citizens within our canton, prevention of domestic and gender violence, advocacy for public policies, awareness-rising among authorities.
