Who we are

The Global Network of Sex Work Projects (NSWP) exists to uphold the voice of sex workers globally and connect regional networks advocating for the rights of female, male, and transgender sex workers.

NSWP is a membership organisation. Our members are local, national or regional sex worker-led organisations and networks across five regions: Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America and North America and the Caribbean

NSWP’s work is based on three core values:

  • Acceptance of sex work as work.
  • Opposition to all forms of criminalisation and other legal oppression of sex work (including sex workers, clients, third parties*, families, partners and friends).
  • Supporting self-organisation and self-determination of sex workers.

*The term ‘third parties includes managers, brothel keepers, receptionists, maids, drivers, landlords, hotels who rent rooms to sex workers and anyone else who is seen as facilitating sex work.

All NSWP members endorse these core values and NSWP’s Consensus Statement on Sex Work, Human Rights, and the Law. Member organisations are also required to respect the NSWP Code of Conduct. You can read more about what we do, NSWP’s membership and governance structure and our history.

NSWP is registered as a not-for-profit private company in the United Kingdom. See also NSWP’s Certificate of Incorporation and Memorandum and Articles of Association.
